Our speakers are opinion leaders, industry experts, and professionals from hedge funds and leading service providers who specialize in hedge fund accounting, administration, compliance, prime brokerage and law. The program is moderated by industry expert Daniel Strachman, author of The Fundamentals of Hedge Fund Management (Wiley 2007), Getting Started In Hedge Funds (Wiley 2010), and Fund of Funds Investing (Wiley 2009).

Daniel A. Strachman

Daniel Strachman is a strategist, commentator and the author of a seven of books on investing including The Fundamentals of Hedge Fund Management (Wiley 2007) three editions of Getting Started In Hedge Funds (Wiley 2000, Wiley 2005 and Wiley 2010), and Fund of Funds Investing – A Roadmap to Portfolio Diversification (Wiley 2009).
He is also the author of the biography of hedge fund legend Julian Roberston.

Annabel Marisca

Annabel Marisca joined Meridian Fund Services (USA) LLC in April 2011 and serves as Senior Vice President, Business Development, responsible for all sales and new business initiatives for Meridian.
Annabel has over 15 years of financial services industry experience. Prior to joining Meridian, she was with Spectrum Global Fund Administration for six years, where she was responsible for all business development for the firm. Before Spectrum, she was Vice President at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York for six years within the Prime Brokerage group where she managed the Implementation Team. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Annabel was with New Frontier Capital, a hedge fund based in New York, where she was responsible for the operations of the company.
Annabel graduated from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1994.

Boris Onefater

Boris Onefater – President of Constellation Investment Consulting Coporation, has worked in the investment management industry for over 20 years.  He specializes in compliance, risk management, operations, technology, valuations, controls assurance, due diligence, business process outsourcing, accounting, finance, and dispute resolution consulting to investment managers and their stakeholders including fund administrators, prime brokers, and investors.  Mr. Onefater’s expertise is with hedge funds as well as Regulated ’40 Act, institutional, global and alternative asset managers.
Previously he was a Partner and a National Hedge Fund Director with an internationally recognized professional services firm where he had the responsibility for the delivery of Investment Management Consulting Services and also the firm’s Audit, Tax, Litigation Support, Risk Management and Consulting services to Hedge Funds.

Jay D. Levy

Jay D. Levy

Jay D. Levy, CPA, is Co-Practice Director of J.H. Cohn’s Financial Services Industry Practice.  He is an audit partner with over 28 years of audit, tax, and business consulting experience.  Jay serves an array of financial services clients, including investment management companies and broker‑dealers.  He specializes in working with investment partnerships consisting of hedge funds and private equity funds, including those with assets over $1 billion.  Jay has provided training to investment managers and to the Firm’s professionals on issues related to investment partnership structuring, accounting, auditing, and financial reporting.  He has also published articles on investment partnership topics.
Jay earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Public Accounting from Pace University.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).  He is also a member of the NYSSCPA’s Investment Management Committee, and the Steering Committee for the New York Hedge Fund Roundtable.

Robert G. Leonard

Robert G. Leonard

Rob Leonard has been involved with the hedge fund industry for over 20 years. His primary focus is the representation of investment funds (domestic and offshore), investment advisers, and broker-dealers.
Rob has structured and organized numerous private investment partnerships and offshore funds, including general equity funds, arbitrage funds, global investment and emerging market funds, private equity and LBO funds, and distressed company funds. He also represents a number of institutional and entrepreneurial funds of funds managers. He has structured many investment
management arrangements and provides ongoing advice to fund managers and broker-dealers on securities, commodities and partnership issues. Rob also counsels funds and their advisers as to the structure and organization of vehicles exempt from registration under the Investment
Company Act.
Rob was recently asked to serve on the 2010 steering committee of the Managed Fund Association’s Lawyers Advisory Committee.
