own the ordinary shares by you
issue redeemable preference shares to investors so you maintain control
Run the business as if you manage the pool of money
So technically, the investors are buying into your company and by law you do not need licence since you are not providing service traditionally.
This would be very cost effective for budding managers to create a track record for a start.
Am I missing anything or is this perfectly fine?

Is there a list of incubator funds in the US?
I have strong professional credentials and some capital in the form of a special security delivering pretty good unleveraged returns. I don’t want to start a hedge fund structure until I found seed capital.

I know that launch a fund it cost only 40 K USD. But in order to be cost-effective to manage a hedge fund, mi research dictates that I need at least 7.5 million US dollars in AUM to start and pay all the operating cost using the maintenance fee 1% os AUM.
